Flexible Working Hours

Ventyx is committed to providing flexible work options for all employees to assist in balancing their work and personal commitments.

The flexible work options apply to both permanent full time and part time employees.


Unpaid Leave

Unpaid leave is available to all employees and is approved at the Managers' discretion and would normally be for a maximum period of six months.

Purchasable Annual Leave

Ventyx’s flexible leave policy provides the opportunity for an employee to salary sacrifice an additional 1, 2, 3 or 4 weeks of annual leave.

Volunteer/Community leave

Employees are eligible take unpaid leave to volunteer or support community and charity projects.

Study leave

Study leave is available to attend lectures where the subjects relate to the employee's current role and after hours lectures are not available. Employees are also eligible to take paid time off to study for and attend examinations as per Ventyx's policy.

Defence Force Leave is in addition to other leave entitlements and Ventyx's Defence Force members are entitled to up to 4 weeks leave per year with an additional 2 weeks if in their first year of service.

Ventyx provides a free and confidential counselling and advice service to Manager, employees and their immediate families.

Health/Well-being allowances/discounts

Ventyx employee are eligible for discounts with a number of prominent health fund providers.

Social/Sports Club

How important is work life balance to you and why?

It has always been important to balance my work and personal life, but since having children it is critical.
As a full time employee and a mum to two young children time itself has become a precious commodity, so balancing between the priorities of work and home is very important.

What work life balance practices have you used that are offered by your organisation?

Ventyx has provided me the opportunity to work from home a couple of days a week and are flexible with my working hours so that I can meet the demands of raising a family.

What has been the major benefit to your life due to work life balance practices that you have accessed through your work?

Overall the major benefit to my life in recent years has been the opportunity to be more available to my children when I need to be.

Personal Benefits

Get more out of my day - living an 1 & a 1/2 hours from the city means a significant time commuting to work. Days where I can work from home allow me to use that time more productively.

Family Benefits

I can enjoy quality time with the family. Small things such as having breakfast together in the morning without the regular chaos of rushing out the door to make the early morning train, and also having enough daylight at the end of the work day to enjoy the outdoors with the children make a huge difference.

What has been the major benefit to your life due to work life balance practices that you have accessed through your work?

While planning a 6 month backpacking adventure in Asia I spoke with my Manager regarding options Ventyx could offer. I was happy working at Ventyx and didn't want to give up my position at the company. My Manager arranged 6 months leave of absence to allow me to do the trip, I was also given a guarantee that I would return to the same position. The leave of absence allowed me to enjoy my Asia backpacking adventure with assurance I had a good job waiting for me back in Australia. The whole process was handled by my Manager and HR.
