Registered Nurse – Aged Care

Works closely with the Team Leader and Clinical Care Coordinator to provide resident focused care. Undertakes assessments, treatment, documentation and activities and reports any changes in a resident’s medical condition. Registered Nurses work collaboratively with residents, their general medical practitioner and family to ensure individualised care is of the highest standard.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participates in planning the care required for a shift in consultation with the Team Leader
  • Acts as a preceptor/mentor for Enrolled Nurses and or Personal Care Assistants
  • Participates in entry and exit interviews with residents and their families and formulate care plans
  • Delivers care as per allocation and treatment sheets
  • Fosters an inclusive environment empowering residents and staff to meet their potential
  • Supports the Team Leader to manage the shift effectively and efficiently
  • Updates care plans
  • Participates in provision of resident activities
  • Attends to relevant resident ACFIs
  • Undertakes continuous improvement
  • Participates in team meetings
  • Promotes a positive culture and workplace

Must haves:

  • Registered Nurse Registration – AHPRA
  • Computer literacy
  • Current valid Police Record Check (specific to Aged Care)
