How To Keep Smiling All Day :-)

July 8, 2013

Happy with social networkI’m delighted to share a little secret with you that I started a number of years ago, that will hopefully cause many more smiles throughout your day 🙂

As most of us use computers, we’re constantly logging into them with a password.  A few years ago I was prompted to generate a new one.  I decided that my sequence that I would normally follow to adapt my password was going to be too hard to remember, so I ended up putting something very silly in instead.  But the thing was, I actually remembered it and it made me smile every time I entered it.  Since then, I have tried to pick ones that would either make me smile, laugh or inspire me.

I encourage you to consider doing the same.

The purpose of this is to create an emotional reaction from you throughout your day when you need to re-enter your password.  Make sure you pick one that generates the right emotional reaction when you type it many times during a day.

Typically passwords need to contain more than 8 characters and contain a combination of letters, numbers, symbols, upper and lower case etc.  So consider how you can also incorporate this in your words/phrases.  You may want to consider experiences, places, people, quotes, tv/movies and the list goes on.

Here are some examples of the types of passwords you can come up with.

  • Motivational – “OneStepCloser”, “ICanDoAnything#”, ”Take.ACTION.NOW!”
  • Memories – “@MyWeddingDAY!”,”Baby’sFirstSTEP”, “[email protected]”, “NYE12!”
  • Affirmations – “IamSMART!”,”IamHAPPY!”, “I’mAWESOME”
  • Other Types – “Ilovepuppies!”, “DadDANCING”,”MakeSomeone’sDay”,”SMiLE;-)”

Make sure you pick ones that generate the right emotional response  you want to have all day long J

Happy updating passwords and I look forward to hearing what impact this has on your day!
